About me
In 2005 I graduated from Tilburg University in Clinical and Child- and Adolescent Psychology. During this study I worked at the Center for Creative Learning in Sterksel, the Netherlands. Here I worked with gifted children who got stuck in regular education. I did my internship in Suriname, where I worked as a psychologist in the Regional Hospital of Nieuw-Nickerie and led parenting consultations for parents at the various schools and community centers of Nieuw-Nickerie. This town has a very rich cultural diversity and one of the highest suicide rates in the world.
After completing my university degree in Clinical and Child- and Adolescent Psychology in 2006, I followed many in-depth courses at RINO Noord Holland. After my studies I worked in the Catharina Hospital in the Pediatric Department. There I did personality and intelligence research with children and young people. In the end I decided to focus more on adults and young people and I started the Past Reality Integration course. I followed an 'Education Permanente' there for 10 years. I have had my own private practice since 2007. After PRI, I started training more and more in a body-oriented way of working, such as Somatic Experiencing and the Polyvagal Theory, among others with Peter Levine and with Bettie Spijksema in Amsterdam. At the same time, I wanted to develop further in working with couples and relationships. I mainly followed my training on this theme at the Emotionally Focused Therapy Institute in Belgium. I followed the basic training in mediation and mediation at the Interaction Academy in Antwerp.
